What is Whole30?

Created by Melissa Hartwig Urban, Whole30 is a 30-day elimination diet that removes the most commonly problematic food groups โ€” sugar, grains, dairy, legumes, soy, and alcohol โ€” to give your body a "reset."

After 30 days, you systematically reintroduce eliminated foods one at a time to observe how your body responds, helping you identify personal food sensitivities you may not have known existed.

The Rules

  • โ€ข Meat, seafood, and eggs
  • โ€ข Vegetables and fruits
  • โ€ข Natural fats (olive oil, coconut oil, ghee)
  • โ€ข Nuts and seeds (some exceptions)
  • โ€ข Herbs, spices, and seasonings

โŒ Eliminate for 30 Days

  • โ€ข Sugar โ€” All forms, real or artificial
  • โ€ข Alcohol โ€” None, even in cooking
  • โ€ข Grains โ€” Wheat, rice, corn, oats, etc.
  • โ€ข Legumes โ€” Beans, peanuts, lentils, soy
  • โ€ข Dairy โ€” All milk products (ghee is allowed)
  • โ€ข Carrageenan, MSG, sulfites
